Our Relationship Network

RELATIONSHIPS MATTER…

Your family, friends, colleagues, and other loved ones must be cultivated like a garden. Time, effort, and imagination must be summoned constantly to keep any relationship flourishing and growing.

Many, when asked about what makes their world go round, answer “Money.” It’s a sad reality of life, for they perceive their lives only worth the “Money.” Unfortunately money cannot buy the most important things in life, such as an extra minute of time at the end of your life, the love of your family, joy in what you do, etc. This is why there is a self help industry to remind us that we need to focus on what we value before we focus on the value of what we own.

What really makes the world go round then?

Have you ever given a thought about this very important question? When it comes to significant aspect of our lives, I believe that relationships matter the most.

From the time we are created in our mother’s womb, to the time we die, we spend most of our time around people. Therefore, whom we touched and who touched us is the real core of what matters most in our lives.

Relationships define our Shangri-La moments and the hell we experience in our lives. The people around us bring out our laughter and the tears that fill our eyes. Our relationships nourish every single day of our lives and will define us in our dying days.

What makes a healthy relationship?

Isn’t LOVE the most basic component of any relationship? Yes it is. But love is usually mistaken as being only a feeling. Love is actually so much more. It is a commitment, the way you think, act, and feel – therefore, LOVE is a conscious DECISION.

As the old saying states, “You can have everything you want in life if you help other people get what they want out of life.”

At the heart of every successful relationship is open and honest COMMUNICATION. This builds trust and confidence between two individuals. Remember that communication is a two way street and listening is more important to understanding another person than simply focusing on sharing your thoughts with them.

Other key components of a long lasting, healthy relationship are: SMILING; PATIENCE, KINDNESS, CARING, FRIENDLINESS, RESPECT, AND HAVING FUN.
